Rudolph ring pop Christmas crafts

Every December, my kids start buzzing with holiday energy, and I find myself searching for something, anything, that can keep their hands busy and their excitement channeled into something fun (and not just tearing apart the decorations). That’s how the Rudolph Ring Pop craft became a tradition in our house. It’s simple, adorable, and most importantly… it keeps my kids focused for longer than five minutes.

We started making these a few years ago, and now it’s a must-do. The best part? They think it’s hilarious that Rudolph’s nose is actually candy, and they often sneak a few Ring Pops while we craft. It’s the perfect mix of creativity and sugar, and it’s one of those easy wins that makes me feel like a Pinterest parent without all the stress.

If you’re looking for something fun to make with your kids (or something festive to bring to a classroom party), this Rudolph Ring Pop craft is a favorite in our home, and I think it will be in yours, too.

Step-by-Step Directions for Rudolph Ring Pop Craft

This craft looks impressive, but it’s actually super easy to pull off. Here’s how to make your own:

1. Print & Trace the Reindeer Head

Download and print the Rudolph head template. Cut out the template, then trace it onto a piece of brown cardstock. Carefully cut out the traced shape and set it aside for now.

2. Make the Antlers

Using a pencil, trace your craft stick twice on a sheet of tan cardstock in the shape of a lowercase “y”. These will become Rudolph’s antlers. Cut them out and use glue dots to attach them to the back of the reindeer’s head.

3. Add Eyes

Next, glue googly eyes in place using glue dots or school glue. Now Rudolph’s starting to come to life!

4. Prep the Nose

Gently poke a hole where the nose should go (use scissors or a pencil to help), and then cut a small slit or incision wide enough for a Ring Pop base to slide through.

5. Wrap the Ring Pop

Before inserting the candy, wrap the Ring Pop in Saran Wrap to keep it from getting sticky. This makes it gift-ready and a little more hygienic if you’re passing it out at school or a party.

6. Insert the Nose

Slide the Ring Pop through the incision so that the red candy forms Rudolph’s bright red nose. And that’s it, you’ve got a candy reindeer ready to share!

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use regular glue or a glue stick instead of glue dots?

Yes! School glue or a glue stick will work fine. Just be sure to allow extra drying time, especially if kids are handling their crafts right away.

What weight of cardstock is best?

Use medium to heavy-weight cardstock (65–100 lb). It helps the reindeer hold its shape, especially with the Ring Pop added to the front.

How do I keep the Ring Pop from falling out?
Make sure the incision for the Ring Pop is snug. You can wrap the base of the Ring Pop in a small piece of tape or even secure it with a glue dot behind the head for extra hold if needed.

Is this craft toddler-friendly?
With a little help from an adult, yes! You can pre-cut the pieces and let little ones help glue everything together. Just supervise closely with the scissors and small parts.
