These adorable 3D Christmas coloring crafts are my new secret weapon for keeping the kids occupied during those long December afternoons. They’re simple, they’re FREE, and they look absolutely adorable when they’re finished. Plus, these free Christmas coloring pages are way more interesting than regular coloring sheets because of that fun pop-up element that makes everything feel more special.
These coloring crafts include six different festive designs – a Christmas tree, ornament, Christmas bell, wreath, snowy cabin, and candle. The best part? Your kids can color them however they want, and the 3D effect makes them perfect for displaying on the fridge or mantle. Great free printable Christmas crafts that your kids will love!

What You’ll Need
The great thing about these 3D Christmas coloring crafts is that you probably already have most of these supplies on hand! Here’s what you’ll need to get started:
- Free Printable Templates – Download and print the 3D Christmas coloring pages (included below!)
- Heavier Weight Printer Paper – I recommend using 24-28 lb paper instead of regular copy paper for a sturdier result
- Crayons, Colored Pencils, or Markers – Whatever your kids prefer to color with
- Scissors – Kid-safe scissors work great for this project
- Glue Stick – A tape runner also works well if you have one
- Colored Card Stock or Construction Paper – Optional, but recommended as a backing to make the crafts extra sturdy and professional-looking
- Optional: Glitter, Stickers, or Other Embellishments – For kids who want to add extra sparkle to their creations!

Step-by-Step Instructions
Making these 3D Christmas coloring crafts is super simple! Even my youngest could do most of the steps herself with just a little help from me. Here’s how to create your own:
Step 1: Print the Templates
Print out the free printable templates on heavier weight printer paper (24-28 lb works best). If you’re using regular 20 lb copy paper, that’s okay too – just know that heavier paper will make the finished crafts more durable. Each template includes a base coloring sheet and a separate 3D pop-up design that goes on top.
Step 2: Color the Christmas Designs
This is the fun part where your kids get to be creative! Have them color both the base coloring sheet and the 3D pop-up piece. They can use traditional Christmas colors or go completely wild with their own color schemes – there’s no wrong way to do it!

*Tip: If you’re working with younger kids, you might want to remind them to stay inside the lines on the 3D piece since it will be the focal point of the craft.
Step 3: Cut Out the 3D Piece
Carefully cut out the 3D pop-up design along the dotted lines. If you have younger children, you may need to help with this step – or let them practice their cutting skills on the simpler shapes. Then cut out the base card along the solid rectangle.
Step 4: Optional – Add a Card Stock Backing
If you want your 3D Christmas crafts to look extra professional (and last longer!), cut a piece of card stock or construction paper slightly larger than the base coloring sheet. Use your glue stick to attach the colored base sheet to the card stock backing. This step is totally optional, but it does make the finished product look more polished!

Step 5: Attach the 3D Pop-Up Design
Fold along the side dotted lines of the pop up pieces to make them stand up more. Then use your glue stick to apply glue to the folded tabs of the 3D pop-up piece. Carefully glue the tabs on top of the base coloring sheet in the designated spot. Press down gently to make sure it’s secure. The 3D element will pop up slightly from the page, creating that fun dimensional effect!

Other Ideas for the 3D Christmas Coloring Crafts
If your kids want to take their crafts to the next level, here are some other fun ideas:
- add glitter, stickers, or other fun decorations
- use glitter glue to make sparkly garland on the Christmas tree
- add some small gem stickers for extra color on the ornament
- add small pieces of cotton balls to the background of the snowy winter cabin
- add some gold glitter to the center of the candle to look like a flame
Once everything is dry, your 3D Christmas coloring crafts are ready to display! We love hanging ours on the fridge with magnets, propping them up on the fireplace mantle, or even using them as homemade 3D Christmas cards.
