If you’re looking for cute and easy Halloween treats for kids, then these yummy Cherry Pie Mummy Halloween Treats are for you! Make these cute mini mummy pies with just 4 ingredients (and most of them are pre-made for you!).
If you’ve been following along with me for a while, then you probably know that I don’t cook… Can’t cook… Pretty much banned from the kitchen after an unfortunate incident that involved a surprise dinner of sea scallops followed by my husband vomiting in the bathtub.
Gross, I know.
But, my kitchen duties are pretty much limited to:
- these awesome snack plate dinners for kids (trust me, if I can feed my kids healthy and easy dinners, so can you!)
- boxed brownies (which I recently made into these super cute Halloween brownies!)
- salad
Yup, I can mix pre-cut vegetables together in a bowl like a CHAMP!
But now, thanks to these easy 4 ingredient Cherry Pie Mummy Halloween Treats, I’ve got another recipe mastered! So trust me when I say this…
My kids literally tell everyone that I can’t even cook toast, so if I can make these cute Halloween treats, then you can probably do it blindfolded with one hand tied behind your back.
Although I don’t recommend you do that!
Here’s how to make these Cherry Pie Mummy Halloween Treats that are perfect for classroom parties or late October after school snacks:
Ingredients for Mummy Halloween Treats
- 1 package pre-made pie dough
- 1 cup cherry pie filling – I prefer to use the Comstock with extra fruit.
- 1 egg, beaten
- 16 candy eyes – And since you have to buy the candy eyes anyways, you should make these cute Chocolate Apple Turkeys for Thanksgiving!
Mini Mummy Cherry Pies Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cut 16 circles out of store-bought pie dough using a 3-inch round cookie cutter.
- Place eight of the pie dough circles on the lined baking sheet, spaced out a bit. See the photo down below for reference.
- Cut the remaining 8 circles into small strips using a pizza cutter. These strips will be the “gauze” for your Mummy Halloween Treats. It should look like this:
- Place a small spoonful of cherry pie filling in the center of each pie circle like this:
- Top the pie filling with the pie strips to create mummy bandages. Then use a fork to “crimp” together the edges of the pie dough strips and the bottom circles of pie dough.
- Brush the beaten egg over the top of each pie.
Your mummy cherry pies should look like this before they go in the oven:
- Place the pies in the preheated oven and bake for 8 to 10 minutes, until the crust is golden brown.
- Remove from oven and allow to cool, then add two candy eyes to the top of each pie to look like mummies.
And that’s it! I told you this cute Halloween treat recipe was SUPER easy!
