Are you looking for the perfect teacher appreciation gift for your child’s teacher? These teacher gift card holder templates assemble in a snap! They’re an ideal way to show teachers some love for Teacher Appreciation Week!

I’m a firm believer that teachers are among many of the unsung heroes of our generation. They’re constantly dealing with new challenges that come up in education (and life!), and they show up every day to teach our kids anyway.
We love to sprinkle in bits of teacher appreciation throughout the school year because – let’s face it – it doesn’t happen enough! My kids and I love assembling teacher survival kits in the fall to give to each new teacher and their aides.
I also like using my free printable Teacher’s Favorite Things questionnaire to add a personal touch to these teacher appreciation gifts. It’s a great way to learn more about your child’s teacher as a person, not just as an educator.
One thing I’ve discovered is that gift cards are a universal crowd-pleaser! Teachers love getting gift cards they can use whenever they want, and it’s a quick and easy gift for parents to pick up!
That’s why I’ve created these super cute teacher appreciation gift card holders. They’re the perfect way to celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week, and you can assemble them in minutes.
Supplies Needed for DIY Teacher Gift Card Holder
You’ll need the following supplies to make your own teacher gift card holder:
- Free Printable Gift Card Holder for Teachers — Access the link at the end of this post!
- Gift card — This would be a great time to use the info from your Teacher’s Favorite Things form from the beginning of the school year! Or you could always go with the tried-and-true Dunkin’ or Starbucks gift card!
- White card stock — recommended so that the teacher gift card holders are sturdier
- Crayons/markers—for coloring the black-and-white versions of the gift card holders (a perfect way to involve the kids!).
- Scissors — for cutting out the gift card holders once you’re done coloring them
- Tape Runner (optional, but recommended) — A tape runner is an excellent alternative to glue, and it’s much less messy!
How to Use the Printable Teacher Gift Card Holder
These cute and colorful teacher appreciation gift card holders are super simple to make, which is excellent if you have multiple kids in school! Here’s how to do it:
Print the teacher gift card holder
Click the download link below for the free printable gift card holders for teachers. There are 8 different designs that you can choose from! Print the holders on white card stock.
Color the teacher appreciation gift card holder
I recommend having your kids color the gift card holders BEFORE you cut them out. That way, no one will notice if they color outside the lines. If your kids have mastered scissors, they can even do this part!
Cut out the front and back pieces and glue them together
Once you’ve colored the gift card holders, cut them out. Before you glue or tape the two pieces together, remember to cut along the dotted line so that you can actually insert the gift card.
You’ll have two pieces for each holder – the front and the back. Use a tape runner to glue the two pieces together. If you don’t have a tape runner, you can use a glue stick for this step.
Insert the gift card
After securing the two pieces of the teacher gift card holder together, insert your gift card into the opening you made earlier. This gift pairs perfectly with my free printable teacher appreciation letter that kids can fill out. It’s an easy way to add an extra personal touch that will bring a tear to any educator’s eye!
