Make your own date night scratch off cards with this printable template and some easy to use scratch off stickers. The perfect date night gift for couples who want to try something new for dates!
I was browsing through Pinterest a few weeks ago, and I stumbled on a post about how to make your own scratch off cards – and that got my mind going! If you can make DIY scratch off cards with packing tape, liquid dish soap, and paint, then you can turn anything into a fun, surprise scratch off… including some date night cards!
Now, you can buy pre-made date night scratch off cards online, but they can be a bit more expensive. And, to be honest, some of the date ideas are too “out there” for me, or the dates can’t be done in our hometown… for instance, we don’t have a drive-in movie theater.
So I decided to create my own DIY date night scratch off cards… and instead of turning it into a big, messy craft project, I found some of the BEST scratch off stickers to use!
You just print the date night cards on white card stock, cut them out, and apply one of the heart-shaped scratch off stickers over the date idea- easy peasy!

Supplies Needed
You only need a few basic supplies (and a sticker pack from Amazon) to make these adorable date cards:
- white card stock – You’ll definitely want to print the date cards on card stock, so that they don’t tear while you’re scratching them off.
- paper trimmer or scissors – I used a paper trimmer for nice, straight edges for my cards.
- heart scratch off stickers – The printable template is perfectly sized to fit the 3″ scratch off heart stickers. These are the ones that I used, and they come in a pack with three different colors (gold, silver, and rose).

How to Make Your Own Date Scratch Off Cards with Stickers
- Print out the date night cards template. – Be sure to print on white card stock for best results.
- Cut the cards out along the outer border.
- Add the scratch off stickers directly over the heart shapes with the date ideas.
- Use a coin to scratch off the heart to reveal the surprise date underneath!
Scratch Off Card Date Ideas
The great thing about my date cards is that they’re color-coordinated by date location. Here’s a sample of the at home date ideas that are included on the pink colored printable scratch off cards:
- Cook a new recipe – Try something fancy like coq au vin or surf ‘n turf… and don’t forget dessert!
- Homemade ice cream date – Break out the ice cream maker or search “no churn ice cream recipes” if you don’t have one. Don’t forget the toppings!
- Pinot and puzzles – Grab a difficult puzzle and a bottle of wine and enjoy each other’s company!
- Grilled cheese challenge – Kitchen competition! Who can make the best and most creative grilled cheese?
- Time capsule or scrapbook – Grab old photos from your time together and create a fun keepsake… or make a digital photo book!
- Takeout by candlelight – Light some candles, put on some music, and order takeout from your favorite restaurant.
- Boxed brownie throw down – Go to the store and pick up two identical boxes of brownie mix. Head home and see who can “doctor up” the mix for the best brownies!
- Learn a new dance – Search YouTube or Instagram for trending dances and try them out… and don’t forget to film it!
And here are some of the “out on the town” date ideas that are included on the blue colored scratch off date cards:
- Coffee and conversation date – Visit a new coffee shop and enjoy sitting with each other and just talking. Print out some conversation starters to take with you if you want!
- New restaurant – Go out for dinner to a restaurant that you’ve never been to before… If you’re feeling brave, order for each other in secret so your entrees are a surprise!
- Food truck park feast – Visit a Food Truck park and order something from every truck!
- Creative class date – Try sushi making, cake decorating, or a painting class (where you bring your own wine!). Search online for classes near you!
- Geocaching date – Think of geocaching as a worldwide “treasure” hunt. Download the official geocaching app on your phone and hunt for “caches” near you!
- Photo scavenger hunt date – Print out a photo scavenger hunt and drive around snapping pics of the items on the list.
- Explore the next town over – Drive to the nearest town and walk around their main “downtown” area. Try a new dinner or dessert spot.
