This Halloween popcorn mix is full of pretzel sticks, candy corn, orange cream-filled Oreos, and other sweet treats. The perfect easy snack mix to enjoy with a Halloween movie or as a party treat!

One of my favorite things to do in the month of October is to curl up on the couch with my family, watch a spooky movie, and eat some sweet and salty snacks. Actually, let’s be honest… that’s my ideal Friday night regardless of what month it is! And every now and then, I like to earn some major Mom points by whipping up a special treat to go with our family movie night.
I recently created this cute Halloween popcorn bar with spooky mix-in’s like “bat teeth” (mini chocolate chips) and “ghost poop” (mini marshmallows), so I already had popcorn on the brain. Plus, nothing goes better with a movie than popcorn, right?!
So I whipped up a big batch of this Halloween popcorn snack mix, complete with my favorite candy corn (yes, I LOVE the polarizing candy!), candy eyes, orange Oreos, and a few other mix-ins. The family loved it, and now this easy Halloween snack mix has made it to our list of must-make treats for Fall.
Perfect for a cuddly night on the couch, your annual Halloween costume bash, or your kids’ classroom parties at school, I’m sure this Halloween popcorn mix will be a hit with your little goblins, too!
Halloween Popcorn Ingredients
The great thing about this spooky treat is that you can mix and match your way to the perfect popcorn snack mix! Add in your favorite Halloween candies to make it your own. Here’s what I added to my monster munch Halloween popcorn:
- popcorn – It’s best to use freshly popped popcorn for this recipe, or substitute your favorite store-bought bagged popcorn. I’ve made this recipe with the original flavor of Skinny Pop and it works well, also!
- white chocolate chips – To melt down for a yummy chocolate drizzle.
- mini marshmallows
- pretzel sticks
- candy corn
- Skittles or M&M’s – Choose your favorite chocolate-coated candies to use as a mix-in. For a more Halloween-themed snack mix, I just picked out the orange and green candies to use.
- Halloween sprinkles and/or candy eyeballs
- Oreo cookies – I chose to use the Halloween Oreos with orange cream to add a pop of color to my spooky popcorn mix.
Recipe Variations:
- Different Candy: Swap out the candy corn or M&M’s for your favorite Halloween-themed treats like Reese’s pieces or gummy worms.
- Dark or Milk Chocolate: Replace white chocolate with dark or milk chocolate for a different look.
- Different Holidays: Switch out the Halloween-themed toppings for ones that match other holidays like Christmas or Easter.
How to Make Halloween Monster Munch Popcorn
Whether you call it monster munch popcorn or Halloween popcorn snack mix, I just call it delicious! And this fun treat is so easy to make in a few simple steps:
- Spread the popcorn out in an even layer on a large baking sheet.
- Microwave the white chocolate chips in 30 second intervals, stirring in between each interval, until the chocolate is smooth.
- Use a spoon to drizzle half of the melted chocolate over the tray of popcorn.
- Sprinkle on about half of each of the mix-ins, distributing them evenly over the popcorn.
- Drizzle on the remaining white chocolate, and then top with the rest of the mix-ins.
- Allow the chocolate to harden, and then break the popcorn mix apart into pieces or portion into snack bowls for serving.
Storage Tips
Store the Halloween popcorn mix in an airtight container. Keep the container in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. The mix should stay fresh for about 3-4 days at room temperature.
Recipe Notes:
- Use Fresh Popcorn: For the best texture and flavor, use freshly popped popcorn. Make sure to remove any unpopped kernels.
- Work Quickly: Once you start adding the chocolate and toppings, work quickly so the chocolate doesn’t harden before all the toppings are added.
- Reheat Chocolate If Needed: If the chocolate starts to harden while working, gently reheat it in the microwave in 10-second bursts until smooth again.
