There’s nothing tastier than a fresh fall-themed cocktail, and this spooktacular You’ve Been Boozed printable is the perfect way to get your adult neighbors into the Halloween spirit! Snag the “You’ve Been Boozed” printable tags and find out how to “booze” your friends this Halloween!
I don’t think I will ever be too old to get excited for Halloween. My inner child giggles with anticipation when October 1st rolls around each year, and I love unpacking all of my fall-themed decorations to add a touch of autumn flair to our home.
Our neighborhood does Halloween in a BIG way, whether it’s outdoor decorations, a pumpkin scavenger hunt for the kids, or fabulous treats for trick-or-treating. That’s part of the reason why it’s so fun to take part in fun Halloween traditions like “You’ve Been Booed.” Our kids love picking out what to “Boo” our neighbors with, and everyone is great about keeping it going until almost every house in the neighborhood has been “Booed!
What’s more, there’s a new version of “booing” friends and neighbors called “You’ve Been Boozed!” Now, this is really something I can get behind, and I’ve already made a list of moms who could use a tasty fall cocktail to keep them going this Halloween!
I’ve included everything you need to know about the “You’ve Been Boozed” tradition, how to do it, and even a cute (and free!) “You’ve Been Boozed” printable to kick things off in your neighborhood! Let’s get into it!
What is the Halloween You’ve Been BOO-zed Tradition?
While the Halloween You’ve Been BOOzed tradition is relatively recent, friends and neighbors have been BOOing each other since MTV was still a thing and couples like Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez were falling in love (for the first time).
If you’re unfamiliar with this spooktacular activity, the “You’ve Been Booed” tradition of leaving Halloween treats around the neighborhood has become super popular because it’s easy, fun, and kids can join in!
In a nutshell, you can BOO someone by leaving a Halloween-themed gift bag or basket on their doorstep, along with a sign that says “You’ve Been Booed!” That person then has two days to “BOO” someone else to keep spreading the spooky cheer around the neighborhood!
You’ve Been BOOzed, on the other hand, is like a grown-up version of getting BOOed. So, instead of leaving a basket of candy on another mom’s doorstep, you leave their favorite cocktail, adult beverage, or a gift basket with extra goodies on the side!
Just make sure that you include the free You’ve Been BOOzed printables from this post, along with your anonymous alcohol! The You’ve Been BOOzed instructions let your neighbors and friends know what they need to do next.
The rules of You’ve Been BOOzed are still the same – once you’ve been BOOzed, you have two days to BOOze someone else. Post the We’ve Been Boozed flyer in your window or hang it on your door knob so that people know to skip your house and treat someone else to a tasty cocktail.

There are so many different wine bottles out there with creative and unusual labels! Buy a bottle of wine with a spooky-looking or vintage label that fits with the Halloween theme, and leave it on your neighbor’s doorstep!

- Apothic Red Blend
- The Seven Deadly Zins Zinfandel

Tie a gift tag around a fall-flavored liquor or individual serve cans
You can also tie You’ve Been Boozed tags around a six-pack of seasonal ale, hard cider, or a bottle of fall-flavored liquor. Use an orange or black ribbon to add a festive touch, and you’re good to go!
Or, you can also pick out some pre-mixed cocktail cans that come in Halloween colored boxes, like purple or orange. That’s what I did for these Crown Royal Whisky & Cola and Peach Tea cocktails:
Suggestions from my local grocery store include:

- New Belgium Voodoo Ranger Atomic Pumpkin
- Blake’s Caramel Apple Hard Cider
- Jack Daniels Tennessee Apple
- Mozart’s Pumpkin Spice

You’ve Been Boozed Gift Tag Poem
The free You’ve Been Boozed printable tags come with a cheeky poem that explains how to “booze” someone to keep the fun going. Here’s the You’ve Been Boo-zed poem that I wrote for the gift tags:
Delivering some wicked brew... Yup, that's right, You've Been BOOZED! Now join in the thirsty fun, it's your turn to BOOZE someone!
To start a tradition of “boozing” your neighbors and keep it going from house to house, you can hang this tag on the neck of the wine bottle behind the You’ve Been Boo-zed tag. Then, hang the “We’ve Been Boozed” printable on your front door handle like this:
How to Use the Free Printable You’ve Been Boozed Tags
This free You’ve Been Boozed printable makes it super easy to BOOze your neighbors or friends! Here’s what you need to do:
- Step 1: Print the “You’ve Been Boozed” tags – I recommend printing these on white cardstock, since your spooky gift might be sitting outside for a while before your neighbors find it. I printed my tags on 80 lb. white cardstock.
- Step 2: Cut out and hole punch the tags – If you’re going to be using the tag with the larger hole that goes around the neck of a wine or liquor bottle, then you will need to cut out the circle, and then make a slight fold right under the circle so that the tag hangs nicely on the bottle. *See the photo below.
- Step 3: Fill a bucket with Halloween or fall-themed snacks and accessories that complement your boozy gift – Be mindful of the weather if you’re creating a basket of goodies to go along with your adult beverages. Your gift will be much less appealing with melty chocolate or frozen beer cans!
- Step 4: Attach the You’ve Been Boozed tags to your basket or wine bottle – Use a piece of twine or fall-themed ribbon to keep your tags in place. Or you can also fold a piece of tape over on itself and tape the back of the tag to the gift – that’s what I did for the Crown Royal canned cocktail boxes.
- Step 5: “Booze” Your Neighbors – Once you’ve finished with your gift, drop it off on a lucky neighbor or friend’s front porch! The whole point is for this to be a surprise, so try not to get caught!
*The You’ve Been Boozed printable gift tags also come with a tag that’s perfect for gifting your friends some “wicked brew”… no neighborhood needed!
