How to Play the Roll a Turkey Dice Game
The rules of this Thanksgiving dice game are simple. Just follow these simple steps to play:
- Each child gets a copy of the turkey template.
- Take turns rolling the dice (or a single die depending on which game you choose).
- Whatever number the dice lands on corresponds to a specific feature of the turkey (feathers, eyes, feet, etc.).
- Draw and color that part of the turkey on your blank turkey template.
- The first one to complete their turkey is the winner!
Tips and Notes for Playing the Turkey Dice Game
This printable Thanksgiving game for kids is super easy to play, but here are some other suggestions and tips to make this holiday activity even more fun for your kids:
- Winner Winner! Consider having a small prize for the “winner”, or the child that finishes his or her full turkey first. This could include a small toy from the dollar store, a Thanksgiving themed treat, or a “get out of helping with dishes” pass. (I’m sure they’ll all be fighting for that last one!)
- No dice, no problem! If you don’t have dice, you can use a virtual dice roller app on your phone or create a spinner with numbers corresponding to the turkey parts.
- Dinner time fun! You can set this game out at the kids’ table during Thanksgiving dinner. Since the kids often finish eating much earlier (it doesn’t take long to eat 2 rolls!), then they can busy themselves playing this game while the adults finish dinner.
- Turkey gallery! After the game is over, display the turkey masterpieces on a wall or the fridge for some cute holiday decor.
