These Christmas coloring bookmarks are a great activity for kids to do during the month of December! Just print the free printable Christmas crafts and color in one ornament per day to countdown to Christmas!
As a kid, counting down to Christmas was one of my favorite parts of December. My parents always made sure we had some kind of advent calendar or countdown sign, and I vividly remember the thrill of waking up each morning, running to mark off another day.
Some years, it was a traditional chocolate advent calendar, with tiny chocolates tucked behind each door. Other years, we had a handmade felt banner with pockets where my mom would hide small treats or notes of encouragement.
Looking back, I realize how meaningful those small family Christmas traditions were, and they’ve inspired me to keep up the spirit of Christmas countdowns with my own family. Last year I made this awesome Christmas activity advent calendar filled with fun holiday activities to do each day leading up to December 25th. And this year, I’m letting my kids use these Christmas coloring bookmarks as an extra holiday countdown that they can do on their own.
How to Use the Christmas Coloring Bookmarks
Getting started with your Christmas countdown bookmarks is easy! Here’s a step-by-step guide and tips for using the free printable template:
- Download and Print – Start by downloading the free printable Christmas coloring bookmarks. Choose the bookmarks that your kids want to use, and print out on white card stock. I’ve found that 80 lb card stock is best for this craft, because the bookmarks will be sturdier and last through the month of December.
- Cut Out the Bookmarks – Each page includes 4 different bookmarks. Just cut along the lines to create individual bookmarks.
- Start Counting Down to Christmas – Beginning on December 1st, color one ornament each day. As you make your way down the bookmark, you’ll see the ornaments filling up with color, building the excitement for Christmas Day!
