These free printable Christmas gift tags are perfect for creating last-minute cheap gifts. Just print the free holiday tags, cut out, and add to a small gift like a box of chocolates or a pretty candle, and you’ve got an easy and beautiful gift that feels special!

The holidays are officially here, which means it’s time for gift giving – and lots of it! Between teachers, coworkers, neighbors, and that friend who always remembers your birthday, your holiday shopping list can feel a mile long.
Here’s the thing, though. Gift giving doesn’t have to break the bank or stress you out! Sometimes the most meaningful presents are the simple ones – a bag of homemade caramel corn, a sweet treat from the bakery, a Christmas caramel apple gift, or a pretty little potted plant with a thoughtful note attached.
And that’s exactly where these free printable Christmas gift tags come in!
I created 5 different designs to give you options for everyone on your list. Some say “Merry Christmas,” some say “Happy Holidays,” and others say “Season’s Greetings,” so you can choose whichever greeting feels right for each person. They’re the perfect finishing touch to turn an inexpensive gift into something that feels special and intentional.

Tips for Printing Your Gift Tags
Getting your gift tags printed and ready is super simple! Here’s what I recommend:

- Choose your paper wisely – I like to print mine on white card stock for a sturdy feel, but regular printer paper works just fine too! If you use regular printer paper, I recommend glueing them to a colored card stock backer to make them more sturdy.
- Print settings matter – Make sure your printer is set to “actual size” or “100%” so the tags print at the right dimensions. If you need smaller tags for smaller gifts, you can adjust the scale percentage down.
- Cut carefully – Use sharp scissors or a paper trimmer for clean edges. If you want perfectly rounded corners, those corner-rounding punches from the craft store are a game changer!
- Punch your holes – Use a standard hole punch to add a hole at the top of each tag so you can easily tie them on with ribbon, twine, or baker’s string.

Creative Ideas for Using Your Christmas Gift Tags
Once you’ve got your tags printed and ready to go, the fun part begins! Here are some of my favorite ways to use them:
Bags of homemade goodies – Tie a tag onto a cellophane bag filled with homemade (or store-bought, no judgment here!) caramel corn, cookies, fudge, or candied nuts. It instantly makes your treat look like it came from a fancy bakery!

Potted plants or succulents – A small poinsettia, succulent, or herb plant from the grocery store becomes a thoughtful gift when you add one of these tags. *Pro tip: Tie it around the pot with twine for that farmhouse look everyone loves!
Gift bags and boxes – Skip the expensive store-bought tags and use these instead! They work perfectly on gift bags, wrapped presents, or even attached to a bottle of wine or hot cocoa mix.
Teacher appreciation gifts – Teachers deserve all the love during the holidays! Attach a tag to a gift card, a festive mug filled with candy, or a candle. Write a sweet note on the back about how much you appreciate them.

Neighbor gifts – Going the extra mile for your neighbors? Tie a tag onto fresh-baked bread, a jar of jam, or a box of tea. It’s a simple way to spread holiday cheer on your block!
Office gift exchanges – These tags are perfect for those Secret Santa gifts at work. Attach one to a coffee mug, desk plant, or box of chocolates, and you’re good to go!
