Creative Ways to Deliver the Elf Adoption Certificate
You can simply place the printed certificate on the counter near your elf, but why not add some Christmas magic to the delivery of the important document?! Here are some creative ideas to make the moment unforgettable:
- Have the Elf deliver the certificate – For your elf’s first visit of the Christmas season, have him or her “arrive” with the certificate in hand. You can even decorate an envelope with Christmas stickers and glitter and tuck the adoption certificate inside. Place the envelope in your elf’s hands and set him up somewhere that your kids will find him first thing in the morning.
- Mail the Elf Adoption Certificate from The North Pole – Place the official certificate in a large manilla envelope and mail it to your kids. Or, if you plan ahead, you can actually get the envelope postmarked with the official North Pole postmark! You can go here to see how to get your letters stamped with an official North Pole postmark – but you’ll have to be quick… the letter will come from Alaska, so you’ll have to mail it out by December 1st.
- Set up a scavenger hunt – A fun Christmas treasure hunt with rhyming clues is a great way to “deliver” the Elf adoption certificate! You can even have the last clue lead to your Elf on the Shelf holding the certificate! *Head here to check out my printable Christmas treasure hunt clues!
- Create an official scroll – Roll up the certificate and tie it with a pretty holiday bow so that it looks like an official scroll sent directly from Santa.
Tips for Printing
- Use white card stock – For a more authentic and sturdy certificate, opt for card stock or thick, glossy paper. These materials make the certificate feel more official and less like a regular printout.
- Adjust your printer settings as needed – Before hitting print, check your printer settings. You may need to select “Fit to Printable Area” so that the entire design fits on the page, especially if you’re using paper that isn’t US Letter size 8.5″ x 11″. You can also set your printer to “high quality” or “best” for the print quality.
- Test print – Before printing on your high quality thick paper, you may want to do a test print on regular printer paper first. This allows you to check your ink levels and alignment.
- Add some sparkle – After printing, feel free to add some glitter around the edges of the certificate, or roll it up and tie into a scroll with some festive ribbon. This extra steps makes your adoption certificate even more special for your kids!
