Need free printable Christmas gift tags for your last minute gift wrapping? These are some of the best printable Christmas tag designs you’ll find!
There are two types of people in the world… the ones who slap a peel-and-stick gift tag and a pre-made shiny bulk bow on their gifts, and the ones who wrap the perfect Christmas gifts with beautiful, full, hand-tied bows made with wired ribbon.
I have to admit… I’m the former when it comes to wrapping gifts for my family. My kids could care less what the present looks like on the outside… they just want to get to the actual gift in as few tears of Christmas wrapping paper as possible.
When I do go all out with wrapping, however, is when I’m bringing one or two gifts to a work function or a holiday party, or dropping off a gift for my neighbors. Maybe because those gifts are usually wrapped well before Christmas so there isn’t as much “holiday hustle and bustle” and I can take my time to make my gifts pretty.
That’s when I pull out the big guns… the nice printable Christmas tags! You know, the gift tags that are made to be tied on to gifts with ribbon instead of haphazardly stuck on like you would if you were mailing a package back to Amazon.
And the great thing about using printable Christmas gift tags is that you can find a TON of them that are FREE! And after you blew your Christmas budget, free is good!
So I decided to round-up some of the best free printable Christmas gift tags for you to use this year! Here are 35 of my favorite printable holiday tag sets (over 200 different Christmas gift tag designs for FREE!):
How to Print Free Christmas Gift Tags So They Look Store Bought
Before we dive into the super cute printable Christmas tags, here are some tips for printing and cutting the gift tags for the best results:
Choose the Right Paper for Your Christmas Tags
White card stock works best for printing your gift tags. I’ve found that a 60 lb. card stock goes through my printer nicely without causing any paper jams, and the finished tags don’t get wrinkled.
If you choose a simple black ink design, you can also print the tags on a colored card stock or even kraft paper.
Change Your Printer Settings
Most home color printers allow you to change the settings for a higher quality print job. Your printer may give you options like Good, Better, and Best for quality, or if your printer is like mine, it will give you options for “Ink Drying Time”.
Changing the ink drying time in your settings to the longest option will make your printed color printables look much nicer!
Use a Paper Trimmer to Cut Out Your Gift Tags
If you want your free printable Christmas gift tags to look more professional, then a good paper trimmer is a must! Not only will your cut lines be much straighter and smoother than if you cut them by hand, but you’ll also be able to cut your tags out much more quickly.
Use Ribbon Instead of Tape to Attach Your Tags to Christmas Gifts
Most of the printable tags on this list have holes in the templates that are specifically for tying them on to your gifts. So don’t just slap some tape on the back and call it done!
You can make your Christmas gift wrapping look expensive with the help of some colorful twine or wide wired ribbon. Just wrap the ribbon of your choice around your gift, and thread on a gift tag. Tie into a pretty bow and you’re done!
